Guidance Office Programs

New Family Orientation:

This is an evening event set aside in late August to welcome new families to Christopher Dock. Students receive their schedules and have the opportunity to walk through their schedule. This is to help the first day of school go a little more smoothly for students. Starting at a new school can be very stressful so knowing where lockers and classes are located can help relieve anxiety. School policies and procedures are also covered at this time, and we do our best to make any necessary adjustments in student schedules.

Freshman Retreat:

Ninth grade students gather in a retreat setting as an entire class shortly after school begins for a day of fun, fellowship, and learning. The retreat provides a time for students to become acquainted and also allows time for reflection and worship. Class business and important school information is covered during this time as the students are introduced in a more personal way to many of their teachers and advisors. There is no charge for the retreat. However, some optional activities, the climbing wall & ropes course, have a small fee. Information is provided to the students during the first week of school.
