Guidance Office ProceduresReport Card Procedure:Students receive report cards four times each year. Each report card covers about a nine-week period of classroom time. The first three report cards are distributed to the students on the dates listed on the school calendar. The final report card is mailed about 10 days after school is out. The dates when report cards are issued are on the school calendar. If the end of a quarter changes due to snow days, the revised report card distribution will be posted in the Newsline. K12 Planet:K12 Planet web site (www.k12planet.com) has been implemented to replace academic reports. Each student and parent has been given a user name and password that allows him/her to get into his/her personal information. This site provides homework, grades, messages from teachers, and announcements. Our events are posted in the announcement area. A link to the site is posted on the Christopher Dock home page. Directed Study:Directed Study provides individual study support for students. The goals of this course are to explore various learning styles, as well as enhance organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Time is spent in direct instruction, peer tutoring, and personal study. An assignment book and instructor approval are required. Please speak to Mrs. Hunsberger, Mr. Kabakjian, or Mrs. Grega for more information. Scheduling:Students are advised to select courses wisely and carefully with a post-secondary goal in mind. All students are expected to continue in and complete the courses selected. Registration for the following year occurs in February. The registration form requires a student and parent signature. Parents, please work with students to select appropriate classes. Next year's schedule will be distributed before the end of the year. Students have until the end of the first week of school to make any necessary changes for the entire year. If a schedule change is needed please stop by the Guidance Office and schedule an appointment with Mrs. Hunsberger or Mr. Kabakjian. Graduation Requirements:Listed below are the minimum credit requirements which students must meet in order to qualify for the Christopher Dock diploma. Students must earn a minimum of 24 credits.
