 2007 Season Wrap:
It did not take long for us to realize that this would be a special season for the girls. In our opening scrimmage we lost by one point to Lancaster Mennonite who was second in the state the previous year. The girls went on to a 9-1 overall record including a win over long time rival Gwynedd Mercy. The Dock girls won 2 invitationals. At league championships the girls dominated the league by taking 6 of the top 8 spots. All seven girls were named 1st Team All-League. The 2007 season was capped off with the girls placing 2nd in the District and just missing out on their first trip to states by 6 points. Beth Lambright finished her career with her 4th trip to the state the meet.
We had a solid group of varsity runners this year. Our spread between the 1st and 5th runner was consistently close to 1 minute which helped us to post a 8-3 overall record. The team also posted their best average time at Mill Street, league championships, and districts. Unfortunately, the district was deep in talent this year causing us to slip to 8th overall. With some strong juniors coming back next year we hope to continue the recent trend of improving our average times at our meets.
