Mission Statement
The Christopher Dock Mennonite High School Health and Physical Education Departments seek to nurture each student toward physical, social, spiritual and emotional wholeness. Our desire is to develop students by using a variety of teaching methods and education activities in order to encourage a health-enhancing lifestyle of physical activity, and wellness.

Departmental Objectives
Academic
Demonstrate competence (basic skills, strategies and rules) in at least two of the following types of movement forms: team sports, individual and dual sports, recreation and life-time activities.
Attain the skills and knowledge to participate regularly in health-enhancing fitness activities.
Apply safe practices, rules, procedures and etiquette in all physical activity settings.
Enjoy participation in a variety of physical activities in competitive and recreational settings.
Gain an understanding of the importance of winning and losing in perspective relative to the established goals of participation.
Invite others with differences (e.g., ethnicity, gender, disabilities) to join in personally enjoyable physical activity.
Spiritual
Integrate personal faith experience into physical activity settings.
Lifestyle
Maintain an active lifestyle.
Seek and select physical activities from a variety of movement forms based on personal interest, meaning and fulfillment.
Act independently of peer pressure.
Resolve conflicts in appropriate ways.
Accept the responsibility for taking a leadership role and willingly follow as appropriate in order to accomplish group goals.
