International Students
International students are a vibrant part of the Christopher Dock community and we welcome them to consider a faith-infused Dock education. The Dock Board of Trustees has approved the following changes to our policy on international students as of January 16, 2009. Questions regarding international students can be directed to Lois Boaman, Director of Admissions, at laboaman@dockhs.org.
Proposed changes beginning January 20, 2009
1. Documents required for enrollment consideration
a. Completed Dock Admissions application
b. Copy of applicant’s birth certificate, valid passport or VISA
c. Copies of transcript/grade reports, including English translation
d. Current English proficiency tests, either SLEP, with a threshold score of 52, or TOEFL
e. Current and complete health records
f. Additional documents/teacher recommendations as needed
g. Please note - An interview may be required
2. Standard tuition rates apply
a. Plus a $3,000 non-refundable annual international fee
b. Payment in full for the school year required before I20 is issued
c. Wire transfer of tuition funds must include student Dock ID number
3. Tuition refunds are pro-rated and a refunding charge applies (currently $25)
4. Student housing is the responsibility of the student’s family or agent. Student must provide proof of local guardian, address and phone number a minimum of two weeks before the first day of school.
5. Transportation is the responsibility of the host family. Busing may or may not be provided by the host’s school district.
6. $250 fee for obtaining Dock text books prior to the start of school. Credit will be applied once the books are returned without damage.
7. Students enrolling for second semester in grades 9 and 10 will audit yearlong courses, and may receive credit for quarter and semester courses.
8. Students are responsible for their own health insurance.
